Reaching the Poorest

It is critical for NSEF to be able to demonstrate that its programs are reaching the poorest families in the community and moving them closer to being economically active.

The poorest families of our students are selected for the Family Sponsorship Program. And we will be promoting parents into life skill training, employment, business, and access to finance and tools they need.

We run pilot projects aiming to reach the maximum number of family members in the educational programs and so moving them towards employability.

There are various targets and outcomes for the projects. However, for the NSEF's family profile information, we need family members' name, gender, age, disabilities, household composition, qualifications held, current economic status, work status (if working, information about the job held; if not working, date last worked and information about this job), dependent children (numbers and ages) and other barriers to accessing work, education or training.

COMMUNITY TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT

Technological Advancement

We are establishing a number of working projects to take forward various initiatives. We will regularly measure the progress of these initiatives against our overall objective of reducing poverty and community disadvantage through quality education by:

  • Developing education and skills training programs for schools and communities;
  • Supporting access to technology mainly for African youth and women in the deprived and poor communities;
  • Promoting access to technology for the organisations that have educational, social and environmental objectives as their core mission in Africa;
  • Campaigning for the infrastructural needs of the NSEF project in Africa;
  • And helping African descendants to up-skill and look for opportunities back in Africa.

Technology Academy Network

Academy Network

One aspect of NSEF Project consists of the elaboration of a “dossier” for the African Technology Academy Network and on the situation of a reduced number of engineers in the continent. The human resources allocated to the project are African (70%), British (15%), Portuguese (10%) and other (5%).

NSEF project delivers technological education and aid to develop innovative local community organising initiatives to support entrepreneurship, employability skills training, supplementary education, well-being and community growth.

African Community
An African Capacity Building Foundation recent study on the capacities needed to implement the African Union’s Agenda 2063 shows a projected gap of as many as 4.3 million engineers and 1.6 million agricultural scientists and researchers in Africa.
Therefore it is important to realize that the continued capacity development of industry in Africa will require an adequate supply of well-trained engineers.
Our proposed solution is based on engineering training to exercise the human imagination in order to help combine all our activities to create physical wealth on which our African countries depend in order to transform.
